Summer is wedding and event season. You never know when you'll need a dress like this graceful, Grecian-inspired maxi. I plan to wear this to my friend's rehearsal dinner in September.
I found this beauty for just $24.99 at TJ Maxx. I fell in love with the unique pale purple color, crochet detail, and the open back. I think that it could easily be dressed up with some strappy heels or dressed down with gladiators and a denim jacket.
These photos were taken in the Parallel Forest, a unique landmark in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. These 20,000 red cedars were planted exactly 6 feet apart in 1912. They were planted this way so the trees would grow taller with fewer low branches, providing timber for future park projects. However, the forest was never felled. Now the forest is rumored to be haunted. There is a strange circular monument past the wooded area that is supposedly a Satanic altar.
During my exploration of the Parallel Forest, I did not see any spooks or specters. I was not overcome by dread or fear, though I can attest that the branches smashing together in the wind overhead create a very eerie sound effect. I found the altar but I saw no evidence of Satanic rituals.
But back to this outfit... The open back is huge this summer, so this dress is right on trend!
To complete my boho look, I accessorized with semi-precious amethyst jewelry from Charming Charlie.
What do you think? How would you style this dress?
